FAQ
Who would be my bookkeeper?
Trent, a licensed CPA in Oregon with a background in small business and nonprofit tax. He does the work himself, so the person who knows your file is the person answering your email.
How often is my bookkeeping done?
Transactions are categorized through the month, accounts are reconciled at month end, and your statements land by the 15th of the following month.
Are there contracts or hidden fees?
There is an engagement letter that spells out scope and fee. It runs month to month with thirty days notice on either side, and questions never cost extra.
What accounting software do you use?
QuickBooks Online, every client. If you are on Xero, Wave, or spreadsheets, moving you over is part of setup.
How soon can I be onboarded?
Most clients start within a week of the first call. Full onboarding takes about two weeks, longer if there is catch-up work to do first.
Do you file my tax return?
No. We keep the books and build the year end package your tax preparer needs, then talk to them directly so you are not relaying messages. We can recommend a preparer if you need one.
My books are two years behind. Is that a problem?
It is common. Catch-up work is quoted separately, per month of books, and capped before we start. Most catch-up projects finish in three to six weeks.
How is my information kept safe?
Read only bank access where possible, multi factor authentication on every system, and documents in an encrypted client folder. We never ask for your banking password.
